Our Rotherham site is now harnessing the power of solar energy!

Following successful installation our new solar panels are now up and running, marking another significant step on our sustainability journey.

With manufacturing being a traditionally energy-intensive operation, embracing this renewable energy helps us reduce the CO2 in our processes, making a significant impact on carbon footprint.

Following a successful visit to this year’s Interzum show in Cologne, the Wolf team were delighted to purchase this new fully automated rollpack machine directly from the stand.

This purchase forms yet another part of our long-term strategy of continually investing in both technologically advanced and high-performance machinery.

This roll-packing machinery enables us to increase our effectiveness in storage and also shipping contributing to our sustainability goals.

As an independent family business, we are always looking for ways to support our talented people to grow and progress their careers.

We are delighted to congratulate Jessica Parkin on the successful completion of her Association of Accounting Technicians Level 2 Certificate in Accounting qualification. Jessica also now moves into the role of Assistant Accountant further developing the skills and experience of our Finance Team.

AAT courses are recognised right across the business world as the gold standard for accounting and they award around 90% of vocational qualifications in this field.

Congratulations Jessica on your fantastic achievement!

As we continue to grow our new dedicated mini spring facility, last Friday we were excited to take delivery of further VSS® mini spring machinery. This will enable Wolf to offer increased capacity and an expanded range of VSS® products all as part of our ongoing capital investment strategy.

This also further increases our ‘just in time’ service capability which has been a core Wolf Components value since day one and this latest investment ensures we can always respond rapidly to our customer demands as an independent local supplier.

As of January 2023, Wolf Components pocket units will be assembled utilising polymer based glue delivering significant improvements in recyclability.

This new polymer-based glue has been tested and approved for use by Wolf and has the same chemical structure as the non-woven fabric used in their current products, namely propylene. Currently the glue used in pocket spring construction contaminates the non-woven therefore both complicating and decreasing the recycling potential of the fabric. Wolf’s move to use this polymer-based glue, means the material content types in each product will be reduced from three to two and ensures that the non-woven fabric only comes into contact with a compatible substance.

“Our products are already one of the most lightweight, robust pocket springs in the UK market, containing a high percentage of recycled content” said Anthony Joyce, Managing Director. “At the core of our business are our customers and we work closely with them through the product development process to optimise resource use. Through these collaborations and a highly optimized manufacturing process, we currently achieve a 96% material efficiency rate – a figure we are always striving to improve upon.”

Recent production trials have successfully demonstrated that when using the new glue technology, the pocket units retain all the features of a glue assembled unit such as stability and durability especially when compared to a non-glued unit. Delivering this same consistent high quality of product whilst utilising more sustainable technologies has been a key objective for Wolf over the last year and will remain a major focus going into 2023.

Its birthday celebrations all round as Wolf Components turns five years old today!

We’re incredibly proud of everything that has been achieved over the last five years and this success has only been made possible by our fantastic team who always work to deliver the very best product and service.

Special congratulations go to our original employees, Rob Shuttleworth, Louise Hotchins and John Morgan who have been with us from the very beginning.

Happy Birthday to you all!

After a fantastic Bed Show 2022, the Wolf Team were delighted to be Finalists in the Component Supplier of the Year category at the 2022 NBF Awards.

We are incredibly proud of all our employees who made this success possible.

The judges commented:

“Wolf Components has come on in leaps and bounds in such a short space of time, and it is not just due to favourable circumstances that the spring innovator is fast finding favour with bedmakers across the nation.

In its entry, Wolf demonstrated comprehensive evidence of evolution, with particular reference to sustainability and staff welfare – all crucial areas in which progress could mean the difference between making or breaking for suppliers in coming years.”

Thanks to the NBF for the awards evening and congratulations to John Cotton Group Ltd. this years winners.

As a relationship-led business, customer service is always at the forefront and goes way beyond simply delivering on time. Evolving away from the traditional salesperson-led exclusive contact we encourage our team to liaise directly across all our customers departments for maximum effect.

The whole Wolf Team is now looking forward to continuing to develop these relationships with customers both new and existing at our industry’s main event, The Bed Show, later this month.

We’ll be attending the show for the second year, so do come and say hello to our fantastic team and hear how we are doing customer service differently.

Wolf Components is pleased to confirm that we have again renewed our finance facilities with HSBC, Europe’s largest bank.  This will ensure Wolf has the financial backing to continue to invest in our business growth and development, essential in meeting customer needs.

This facility including an increased asset finance line for Wolf was again successfully put together by the HSBC South Yorkshire Corporate Team led by Lee Manterfield supported by Simon Kitchingman and Paul Byrne.

July sees the start of further expansion at Wolf Components with the securing of an additional site to focus on specialised product production including VSS mini springs along with an enlarged product development and testing resource.

The acquisition of this second building now gives us the required space in our existing factory to expand unit production with the addition of new high speed machines arriving later this year
